About me
My name is Katarzyna Hajdas, I was born in 1993 in Warsaw, Poland. From an early age I was interested in nature, which resulted in a passion for and commitment to environmental protection later in my life. I was able to develop my interests during my Master's studies in Sustainable Development at the University of Warsaw, and later during a scholarship abroad in Germany on behalf of the Deutsche Budestiftung Umwelt, where I worked in the unit coordinating the functioning of the Natura 2000 network in the region.
My passion for rewilding was born during my studies, where I first came across the publications of Dutch naturalist F.W.M Vera. Since then, I have tried to continuously deepen my knowledge in this field, and my mission has become to work towards popularising rewilding and nature conservation in Poland.
It is my great wish that the project Communicating Rewilding in Poland will contribute to raising awareness of rewilding and will be a step towards introducing the topic to education in Poland.
